HOW TO RECEIVE COMPLIMENTS FROM A GIRL

To be blatantly honest with you, I am genuinely disgusted at the way most men receive compliments here in North America. Just a few days ago, I saw a man writing on an envelope at the post office. "What nice hand-writing you have!" a girl exclaimed beside him. "Hmm. Not really." the man stammered. The girl went silent immediately. You know, American men are usually horrible at receiving compliments. They usually just mumble a weak "thank-you". Or worse, they say something like "Oh. That was just luck", or "Not really." Sometimes they are just trying to be modest, but most of the times its because they dont know what to say, especially if the compliment is from a beautiful woman. These types of responses are very hurtful or even insulting to a girl in some cases. The "Not really" type of response is especially bad, since the man is actually denouncing the perceptions of the girl. What if you walked up to a woman, complimented her on something, and got a "not really" in return? How would you feel? And guess what she will do if you keep giving her a negative response every time she compliments you? She will see you as a little man who is not worth complimenting at all. Rather then seeing you as modest, she will see you as impolite and insecure. So what should you do instead? Turn the compliment around! Say something to make her feel good for complimenting you! Some examples are: "Thats very kind of you!" "Thanks, You remembered!" "Oh! How nice of you to notice!" You may also try to be playful. Once a girl complimented me on something I did. She was like "You're amazing!" I just pointed my nose towards the ceiling and said, "I know." She stared blankly at me because she wasn't sure if I was serious or not. I stared back before she finally realized it was a joke. We both cracked up at that point. We went out for dinner after and had a very good time.
